Hello Jojo,
I have been trying to find some information when I ran across you. I don’t know if you are willing to help but I would like to ask you a question.
I have recently started to do a line of silk scarves and silk kaftans. They are made of 12mm satin georgette and crepe. The neckline has a facing and the sewers say they need to use an interfacing to sew them well but it makes the neck a bit stiff. What do you think would be the best type of interfacing in this situation?
If you can help I would appreciate it.
Yours truly

Hi Colin,
I reckon the best interfacing for fine fabrics like georgette especially would be something like silk organza. It’s a stiff but transparent, and even a couple of layers would add some structure without adding too much stiffness. Even with silk crepe i think it would work well. You would want the silk version rather than the poly version for the combination of stiffness and weight.
Hope that helps!
regards
Joanna
